  • US/ VA/ Chesapeake/ Hampton Roads Executive Airport (KPVG) A Tecnam P92 Eaglet (N112TE) experienced a runway excursion. The pilot received minor injuries.

  • Russia/ Rostov oblast/ Aksaisky district/ Fisherman Farm A Bell 429 GlobalRanger helicopter (RA-01617) crashed 200-300m from landing site. Both occupants were seriously injured.



  • Kenya/ Nairobi/ Uhuru Gardens A Cessna T210N Centurion (5Y-BME) force landed while on approach to runway 07 at Nairobi-Wilson Airport. No injuries.

  • South Africa/ Free State/ Vredefort An Eurocopter EC 130B4 (ZS-RZL) experienced a severe downdraft on approach. The helicopter crash-landed and came to rest on its left side. One of the passengers doused the flames that were coming from the engine exhaust.

  • Peru/ Ene and Mantaro Rivers/ Valley of the Apurimac/ near Puerto Ene A light plane crash-landed in a airstrip in the jungle, while  it was performing an illegal flight. The crew fled the scene before security forces arrived.

  • US/ CA/ Kern County/ Rosamond A Velocity STD RG aircraft (N133SV) force landed to high desert terrain. The airplane sustained minor damage. No injuries.

  • South Africa/ Zebula Airstrip A Van's RV-9A plane (ZU-FSA) collapsed the nose gear on landing and flipped over. The aircraft suffered damage to the nose wheel, propeller, canopy and top of the tail fin.

  • US/ MT/ Paradise A Softex-Aero V-24L aircraft (N710XP) crash-landed in a snowy field. Both occupants were injured.

  • US/ AK/ 10 km (6.3 mls) SW of Anaktuvuk Pass Airport - Wright Air Service Cessna 208B Grand Caravan (N540ME) sustained substantial damage after impacting terrain about 6 miles southwest of the Anaktuvuk Pass Airport, Alaska. Of the eight people on board, the pilot and four passengers sustained serious injuries, and three passengers sustained minor injuries.



  • Afghanistan/ Logar province - Afghan National Army (ANA) Mi-17 helicopter crashed during a training exercise, reportedly due to a technical malfunction. Three occupants died in the crash, 2 were injured.

  • US/ NE/ 9 mls from Wayne A Cessna 172N Skyhawk (N5104D) crashed. The pilot died in the crash.

  • Australia/ SA/ Parafield (YPPF) A SIAI-Marchetti SF.260 plane (VH-ZKC) landed at Parafield Airport with the landing gear retracted, resulting in damage to the propeller and undercarriage. No injuries.

  • Germany/ Near Kamp-Lintfort Airfield (EDLC) A Diamond HK-36R Super Dimona motor glider (D-KHAC) crashed near Kamp-Lintfort Airfield (EDLC). The pilot, a 52-year-old man from Wesel, was killed.

  • Brazil/ Rio de Janeiro/ Paraty A Hawker Beechcraft C-90GTI King Air (PP-LMM) crashed while attempting to land at Paraty airport (SDTK), in the "Green Coast" of Rio de Janeiro state. Two bodies were found on the crash site, in the woods of Corumbe.

  • US/ TX/ Lubbock/ Lubbock Preston Smith Int'l Airport (KLBB) A Cessna T210H Turbo Centurion (N2225R) experienced a gear-up landing at Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport (KLBB), Lubbock, Texas. The airplane sustained minor damage. No injuries.

  • US/ IL/ Chicago-O'Hare International Airport (ORD) - United Express Canadair CL-600-2C10 Regional Jet CRJ-702 plane (N164GJ) was struck by an airport vehicle while parked in the non-movement area at Chicago-O'Hare International Airport, IL (ORD). The driver of the vehicle and a flight attendant suffered minor injuries. The vehicle, which impacted the right hand wing tip, sustained substantial damage.



  • Sweden/ Landskrona/Enoch Thulins Airfield (ESML) - Five aircrafts, including Cessna 172S Skyhawk SP (SE-LMU), Cessna F150M (SE-IXT), Diamond DA20-100 Katana (SE-LOF), Diamond DA20-A1 Katana (SE-MBA), Scheibe Bergfalke II/55 (SE-SYX), were destroyed and one substantial damaged in a hangar fire. Arson is strongly suspected.

  • US/ NV/ Las Vegas/ near Henderson Executive Airport (KHND) A Beech 35-C33 Debonair (N20XY) landed short of the intended runway. No injuries.

  • Libya/ Benghazi Libyan Air Force MiG-23ML fighter jet (6472) crashed near Benina airbase. The pilot ejected safely.

  • US/ WY/ Alpine - Wyoming Wings LLC Yak-52 plane (N912EB) impacted terrain in Bonneville County, Idaho, near Palisades Reservoir west of Alpine Airport (46U), Alpine, Wyoming. The airplane sustained substantial damage and the 2 occupants onboard received fatal injuries.

  • US/ MT/ Seeley Lake/ near Seeley Lake Airport (23S) A Cessna 175 Skylark (N9493B) impacted snow covered airport terrain during a landing attempt. The airplane sustained substantial damage. No injuries.

  • Brazil/ SP/ Socorro A Trike Icaros Adventure S aircraft (PU-TRR) crashed on a highway just after takeoff. The pilot died.

  • South Africa/ Gauteng/ Lanseria Airport - A Cessna 172L (ZS-PXH) flipped onto its back in a severe storm.

  • US/ CA/ Napa/ Napa County Airport (KAPC) A Cozy MK IV R experimental aircraft (N4518S) experienced a runway overrun upon landing. The airplane sustained substantial damage. No injuries.

  • US/ OR/ Roseburg/ Roseburg Regional Airport (KRBG) A Piper PA-31-350 Chieftain (N42076) experienced a gear-up landing. No injuries.

  • Netherlands/ North Sea/ W off Petten A Cirrus SR20 (G-ZOGT) crashed into the sea in bad weather. The pilot died.

  • US/ FL/ St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport (PIE) - Skyway Aircraft Inc. Beechcraft 200 Super King Air plane (N275X) made a belly landing. A fuel bladder leak resulted in a fire in the area of the left engine nacelle and substantial damage to the left wing.











































































  • US/ TX/ Sulphur Springs/ Sulphur Springs Municipal Airport (KSLR) A training Cessna 172R Skyhawk (N72AF) experienced a loss of directional control and subsequent runway excursion during the landing sequence. The airplane came to rest inverted, sustaining substantial damage. No injuries.

  • Afghanistan/ Helmand province/ Marja district/ Sepon area USAF Sikorsky HH-60 Pave Hawk helicopter crashed when a rotor blade struck a wall during a Special Forces operation.

  • Colombia/ Tres Esquinas Air Base (TQS) - Fuerza Aerea Colombiana Basler BT-67 Turbo 67 (AC-47T) plane (FAC-1658) sustained substantial damage in a runway excursion accident. The aircraft went off the runway on landing and came to rest in a ditch.



  • US/ GA/ Savannah Hilton Head International Airport (SAV) A Pilatus PC-12/47E (N978AF) was substantially damaged during a forced landing while taking off. The airplane stopped in a drainage ditch. After the crew exited through the exit door, they noticed the airplane was on fire. Both pilots were taken to hospital with minor injuries.



  • Iraq/ Anbar/ Akashat USAF General Atomics MQ-1 Predator drone crashed. The ground pilot lost control of the aircraft, according to the US Air Force.

  • Brazil/ GO/ Bom Jesus de Goias - An agricultural Cessna T188C AGhusky plane (PR-INS) crashed on a farm of Bom Jesus de Goias, while the plane was spraying a crop of sugarcane. The 2 occupants of the aircraft died in the crash.

  • US/ TN/ Lebanon/ near Lebanon Municipal Airport (M54) - The experimental Harrell built Eros 1600 (N508AH), sustained substantial damage upon impact with residential terrain while practicing touch-and-go landings. The pilot died.



  • Australia/ NSW/ Marulan ALA A Brumby 610 Evolution plane (24-8630) crashed upon takeoff and was destroyed by fire. No injuries.

  • US/ NC/ Rowan County/ near Concord A Cirrus SR22 plane (C-GXXJ) experienced a deployment of the Cirrus Airframe Parachute System (CAPS) over Rowan County and came to rest upright on residential terrain near Concord, North Carolina. The airplane sustained substantial damage. No injuries.

  • Sweden/ near Akkajaure - West Air Sweden Canadair CL-600-2B19 Regional Jet CRJ-200PF postal plane (SE-DUX) was destroyed when it crashed while on a flight from Oslo to Tromso, Norway. The aircraft departed Oslo-Gardermoen Airport at 23:10 hours local time on a mail and package flight to Tromso. Contact with the aircraft was lost after a brief mayday call, according to a spokesman for the Norwegian rescue coordination centre. Both pilots, a Spanish and a French, died.



  • Canada/ BC/ Langley Township/ Langley Regional Airport (CYNJ) A Piper PA-23-250 Aztec (C-GPQM) experienced a nose gear collapse upon landing. No injuries.

  • US/ FL/ Minneola/ near Florida Flying Gators Ultralight Airpark (3FD4) A training Avid Mark IV aircraft (N72MT) impacted open field terrain shortly after takeoff. The airplane sustained substantial damage and the sole pilot onboard received serious injuries.

  • Brazil/ MT/ Rondonopolis-Maestro Marinho Franco Airport (ROO) - A Passaredo Linhas Aereas ATR-72-500 (PR-PDD) sustained substantial damage when it touched down 300 m short of the runway at Rondonopolis Airport, Brazil. The aircraft travelled 30 m through crops and impacted a barbed wire fence. The crew then executed a go around and the aircraft landed safely on the runway. The nose section of the airplane sustained a large gash on the right hand side and there was further damage to propeller blade tips and main landing gear doors.



  • US/ CA/ Fresno Chandler Executive Airport (KFCH) A Sonex Onex plane (N1950J) impacted airport terrain during a takeoff attempt. The airplane sustained substantial damage. The sole pilot onboard was injured.

  • Puerto Rico/ San Juan-Luis Munoz Marin International Airport (SJU) An Island Airlines LLC Beechcraft B200 Super King Air plane (N87SA) rolled into the wall of the airport terminal and the left and right elevators sustained substantial damage. Probable Cause: "The pilot's failure to actuate the parking brake prior to leaving his seat, resulting in substantial damage."



  • Namibia/ Uhlenhorst/ near Pokweni A Schempp-Hirth Nimbus 4DM glider (D-KCIT) fell into a spin, got uncontrollable and crashed. Both occupants landed with their parachute. One of them suffered minor injuries.



  • US/ NV/ 90 miles E of Reno - US Naval Aviation Warfighting Development Center F/A-18A Hornet fighter jet crashed during a training mission in a remote mountain area. The pilot ejected safely.

  • Iran/ Sistan and Baluchestan province/ Konarak - Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force F-4 Phantom II fighter jet crashed 45 miles west of Konarak Air Base. Both pilots died in the crash.

  • US/ TX/ Upshur County/ South of Gilmer A Cessna 172N Skyhawk (N737EZ) crashed. One occupant died, another was seriously injured.

  • US/ Oregon/ Grant County/ near Ritter Butte Lookout An Enstrom F-28F Falcon helicopter (N756H) crashed after fuel starvation. The helicopter was substantially damaged. The pilot was seriously injured, the passenger received minor injuries.



  • New Zealand/ Nelson/Annesbrook/ Nelson Airport (NZNS) An Evektor Sportstar Plus plane (ZK-MAC) experienced a nose gear collapse upon landing. No injuries.

  • Israel/ kibbutz Dovrat/ near Afula - An Ayres S-2R-T45 Turbo Thrush crop duster plane (4X-AWT) hit a high voltage wire and crashed. The pilot was injured and taken to hospital.

  • Nicaragua/ Chinandega Department/ Puerto Morazan/ Cuatro Esquinas A Piper PA-31 Navajo B (TI-ATR), used for smuggling cocaine, , was found crashed and abandoned by Nicaraguan law enforcement officers. The National Police found 83 blocks of cocaine weighing 89 kilos in the aircraft. The plane was originating from Costa Rica.

  • Australia/ NSW/Halloran/ Mountain Rd A Piper PA-28-180 plane (VH-BWX) suffered an engine failure after take-off and landed off field. The aircraft suffered substantial damage. No injuries.

  • Guatemala/ Peten/ Mundo Maya Airport A Beechcraft C90A King Air plane (N314LM) collapsed the main landing gear while the aircraft was taxiing.



  • Australia/ NSW/ Bankstown (YSBK) An Aeroprakt A-22 Foxbat plane (24-7979) was blown over by strong wind gusts during the passage of a thunderstorm.

  • Jordan/ Jordan - Royal Jordanian Air Force F-16B Block 20 MLU fighter jet (134) crashed as a result of a technical failure. Both Jordanian pilots ejected safely.

  • US/ VA/ Middlesex County/ Wake A Flightstar II aircraft (N82652) crashed killing the pilot.

  • US/ HI/ off Oahu - US Marine Corps (USMC) Sikorsky CH-53E Sea Stallion helicopter (161255) collided with Sikorsky CH-53E Sea Stallion (163061) and both crashed into the sea during nighttime training. Debris spotted. The aircrafts were from the Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 463 of the 1st Marine Aircraft Wing. All 12 occupants (x 6 on each helicopter) are presumed to have died in the crash.

  • US/ CO/ Rio Blanco County/ west of Meeker A Beech C35 Bonanza plane (N2025D) apparently experienced an in-flight breakup. Debris of the crashed plane was found west of Meeker, CO. The pilot died.

  • Namibia/ near Windhoek-Hosea Kutako International Airport (WDH) - Air Namibia Airbus A319-112 passenger plane (V5-ANL) suffered a bird strike during the approach to WDH. The impact caused a large hole on the right hand side of the fuselage just in front of the wing.

  • UK/ Leicestershire/ Castle Donington/ East Midlands Airport A Cessna 402B (G-MAPP) collapsed the left hand main landing gear on landing. No injuries. Damage sustained to airframe appears to have been "beyond economic repair", as the registration G-MAPP was cancelled by the CAA on 13-4-2016 as "Permanently withdrawn from use".



  • Australia/ QLD/ Marcoola/ Sunshine Coast Airport (YBSU) A Czech Sport PiperSport (24-8108) suffered a nose gear failure after landing at Sunshine Coast Airport, damaging the propeller.

  • Spain/ Andalucía/ Trebujena/ 1 kilometer from the Trebujena Airport (LETJ) A Rans S-12 Airaile aircraft crashed upon takeoff. One person died, another was injured.

  • US/ TX/ Glasscock Co/ south of Garden City A Piper PA-22-108 (N4751Z) crashed. The airplane was destroyed and the sole pilot onboard received fatal injuries.

  • US/ TX/ Justin/ Clark Airport (3T6) A Piper PA-22 was destroyed in a hangar fire.

  • Suriname/ near Apoera A Cessna P206C Super Skylane (PZ-PQR) crashed. Two occupants died. Three other passengers were also seriously injured taken to the hospital.

  • US/ FL/ Vero Beach/ Indian River Aerodrome (FL74) A Piper PA-28-161 Warrior II (N4297M) experienced a runway overrun upon landing. No njuries.

  • US/ AK/ Hooper Bay Airport (HPB) - Grant Aviation Cessna 208B Grand Caravan (N104AN) suffered substantial damage in a runway excursion accident. Probable cause: "The pilot's failure to identify the runway, resulting in the airplane touching down a few feet to the right of the runway."



  • US/ NC/ Franklin County/ Louisburg 24-year-old James Stremmel was killed in a parachute accident early Saturday afternoon. Stremmel was an accomplished skydiver with over 1,800 parachute jumps.

  • Australia/ SA/ Murray Mallee/ Parilla A Microlight crash-landed. The aircraft sustained significant damage and the pilot received serious injuries.

  • Spain/ Igualada Odena A Cessna L-19A Bird Dog (EC-DRN) was taxiing, when a wind gust lifted the rear of the aircraft and the front hit hard the asphalt. The plane was damaged. No injuries.

  • Spain/ Cuenca/ Cerro de los Rabadanes A Socata TB20 Trinidad plane (EC-ESK) crashed, killing the 4 occupants. Officials stated that the aircraft possibly collided with a vulture. Vulture remains were found on the aircraft.

  • US/ FL/ Brooksville/ Brooksville-Tampa Bay Regional Airport (KBKV) A Piper PA-34-200 Seneca (N55134) experienced a gear-up landing. No injuries.



  • Denmark/ Kolding Vamdrup Airport (EKVD) A Cessna 172R Skyhawk (OY-JDL) overturned on landing. No injuries.

  • Peru/ Ayacucho A Cessna plane with a Bolivian registration, was destroyed by the Peruvian authorities as it was transporting drugs.

  • Colombia/ Corral Viejo A Britten-Norman BN-2A-21 Islander plane was destroyed when it was strafed by the Colombian Air Force. The aircraft entered Colombian airspace without authorization and proceeded to land at an airstrip where it was met by a car. The Colombian Air Force suspected the aircraft was involved in a smuggling operation and strafed the plane while it was on the ground.

  • US/ GA/ Madison/ near Madison Municipal Airport (52A) A Cessna 152 (N6135M) clipped power lines and impacted roadway terrain during a force landing attempt subsequent to experiencing in-flight fuel exhaustion. The airplane sustained substantial damage and the 2 occupants onboard received serious injuries.

  • US/ HI/ Kauai/ Kalalau Beach An Airbus EC 130T2 helicopter (N11VQ) experienced a hard forced landing on a beach. The pilot and 2 passengers sustained minor injuries, and 4 passengers were seriously injured.



  • US/UT/ S of Cedar Fort  - A Cessna 525 Citationjet CJ1 (N711BX) was destroyed following an airframe in-flight breakup and impact with a snow covered field near Cedar Fort, Utah. Both occupants, Donald L. Baker (59) and Dawn Elizabeth Hunter (55), died in the accident. The married couple was returning home from a conference in Park City.

  • Congo DR/ Kutuku village A Eurocopter AS 350B3 Ecureuil helicopter (ZS-RCO) made an emergency landing. As a result of the soft landing conditions, the right skid sunk into the ground causing the aircraft to roll onto its right side.

  • Iran/ Karaj/ Payam International Airport A Cessna 172 plane impacted the tail of a Piper PA-28 during pre-flight checks.

  • US/ FL/ Venice/ Venice Municipal Airport (KVNC) A Cessna 210M Centurion (N761EP) experienced a landing gear collapse upon landing. The airplane sustained substantial damage. No injuries.

  • Colombia/ Tolima/ 416′34″N 7447′48″O Flanders A training Piper PA-28-180 Archer (HK-1584-G) made an emergency landing due to an engine failure. No injuries.

  • US/ AZ/ Scottsdale Airport (SCF) A Dassault Falcon 20F-5 (N706SB) sustained substantial damage in a runway excursion accident. No injuries.



  • US/ TX/ Dallas/ Airpark East Airport (1F7) A training Piper PA-28RT-201 Arrow IV (N2119N) experienced a hard landing short of runway 13 at 1F7. No injuries.

  • Brazil/ SP/ Barra Bonita An agricultural Embraer EMB-202A Ipanema (PT-UTQ) crashed while the aircraft was attempting a forced landing due to an engine failure. No injuries.

  • US/ KS/ Wichita/ Colonel James Jabara Airport A Socata TBM700N (TBM900) plane (N602MA) was substantially damaged after landing short at the Colonel James Jabara Airport (AAO), KS, USA. The pilot stated that after departure from ICL, he was in and out clouds at his cruising altitude of flight level 200. He was advised of icing conditions along the route of flight and activated the de-ice boots on automatic, the propeller heat, and the heated windshield, each of which appeared to be operating normally. During the descent into AAO, the pilot observed ice accumulating on the leading edges of the wings, but the de-ice boots appeared to be operating to keep the leading edges of the wings clear. The pilot stated he applied full engine power while on final, but the airplane continued to descend and subsequently touched down 1,463 feet short of the Runway 18 threshold. The airplane skidded 460 feet, during which the landing gear impacted a ground hog hole and the airplane nosed over, which damaged the firewall and wing spar. The pilot reported that, before departing on the overwater cross-country flight, he performed a preflight inspection and noted that the engine oil quantity was full. He also performed an engine run-up before takeoff, during which no discrepancies were noted, and he specifically stated that the oil pressure was satisfactory. After takeoff, the flight proceeded toward the destination. About 20 minutes from the destination, the pilot noticed a sudden loss of oil pressure and saw smoke coming from the engine compartment. The engine subsequently lost power, and the pilot ditched the airplane into the ocean. The airplane sank in about 2,360 ft of water and was not recovered.

  • US/ VA/ Melfa/ Accomack County Airport (KMFV) A Piper PA-32RT-300 Lance (N3046H) experienced a loss of directional control and subsequent runway excursion upon landing. The airplane was destroyed upon impact with structures and post-impact fire. No injuries.



  • US/ CA/ Byron/ Byron Airport (C83) - A  L-39C Albatros jet (N439DH) made a belly landing. No injuries.

  • Antarctica/ Pole A de Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter plane (C-GCKB) failed to take off and departed the ski way. The left hand ski had broken off. After being repaired, the plane entered into service again on 3 February 2016.

  • UK/ Swansea/ Fairwood Common/ Swansea Airport A Cirrus SR20 plane (G-GCDC) lost control and deviated to the left of the runway, eventually impacting a parked Piper PA-38-112 Tomahawk (G-BLWP) on the apron. No injuries.

  • Brazil/ Rio Grande do Sul/ Osorio An IPE-02B Nhapecan glider (PP-FIM) hit a roof of a house, hit a wall of another house and then crashed into a tree in the backyard of another house. One of the aircraft's occupants suffered serious injuries. A woman who was in the house was hit by tiles and part of the ceiling, and had cuts on his head.

  • Honduras/ El Progreso/ Banana plantation Amapa An agricultural Ayres S2R-T34 Turbo Thrush plane (HR-AIH) crashed in a banana field while spraying a banana plantation. Pilot (23) was injured.

  • Brazil/ Parana/ Distrito de Warta/ Londrina An agricultural Air Tractor plane crashes on a Kombi, with several passengers and left 6 dead and two in serious condition. The pilot sustained injuries without the risk of life.



  • US/ AZ/ Glendale/ near Bagdad A F-16A Block 20 Fighting Falcon fighter jet, assigned to the 56th Fighter Wing at Luke Air Force Base, crashed. The Taiwanese air force student pilot, who was flying the plane when it went down, died. The student pilot was being trained in a high G-force maneuver between two aircraft in an air-to-air fight. The pilots instructor was in a separate aircraft. The 56th Fighter Wing is home to nearly 140 F-16s and 24 squadrons, the largest fighter wing in the Air Force.

  • Ukraine/ Kremenchug airport (KHU) A training Mi-2 helicopter (UR-MSV), belonged to Kremenchuk flight college of National Aviation University, fall down during training in Kremenchug, Ukraine. There are one instructor and two cadets onboard. No injuries. Helicopter was damaged.

  • US/ GA/ Bainbridge/ Decatur County Industrial Air Park (KBGE) A Beech E-90 King Air (N345V) experienced a gear up landing. No injuries.

  • France/ Gard/ Laval-Pradel/ near of La Grand-Combe An Ultralight plane crashed in a wooded area. The pilot was slightly injured.



  • Dominican Republic/ La Leonor de Toma A military Aerospatiale AS 350B Ecureuil helicopter (HI-850) crashed upon landing. The 4 occupants sustained minor injuries.

  • Australia/ WA/ near Morawa Airport A Jabiru plane (19-3717) lost directional control while on the landing roll. The plane suffered minimal damage. No injuries.

  • Sweden/ Vastmanland/ E Vasteras/ Angso Churh A training Diamond DA42 Twin Star plane (SE-LVR) crashed shortly after takeoff. All 3 occupants were seriously injured.

  • US/ NV/ Las Vegas/ 10 miles NW of North Las Vegas Airport A training Robinson R22 Beta helicopter (N7020U) sustained substantial damage following the student pilot's loss of control while attempting to transition from a hover taxi to a climbing departure. The pilot received minor injuries. Damage to the helicopter included fracture-separated tail rotor blades, a buckled tail boom, and deformation of the landing skids.



  • Russia/ Moscow Region/ near the city of Sergiev Posad A PZL-104 Wilga 35 plane (RA-0274G) made an emergency landing on a highway. The aircraft ran out of fuel. No injuries.

  • Kazakhstan/ Zhambyl region/ 220 km from Taraz - Zhana Alem Airlines Mi-2 helicopter (UM-1223) crashed. The pilot was seriously injured and died after 12 days.

  • US/ LA/ Basile/ near D I's Cajun Restaurant Airstrip A Champion 7ECA Citabria plane (N7560F) the aircraft force landed to open field terrain due to an engine failure. The airplane came to rest inverted, sustaining substantial damage. No injuries.



  • Thailand/ Phrao district A Van's RV-8 plane (HS-GMC) performed an emergency landing in a cassava plantation after engine failure. The two occupants were slightly injured.

  • US/ AZ/ Phoenix An Enstrom 280 Shark helicopter (N133AB) crashed into a river bed e.g. made a hard landing. The helicopter was extensively damaged. No injuries.

  • US/ CA/ Big Bear City/ Big Bear City Airport (L35) An experimental Wittman Tailwind W-8 aircraft (N1983T) experienced a runway excursion upon landing. The airplane came to rest inverted, sustaining substantial damage. No injuries.

  • Canada/ Newfoundland/ St. Johns - Seven people were taken to hospital after an American Airlines plane from Miami to Milan made an emergency landing in Newfoundland after the jet briefly encountered severe turbulence. The seat belt light was on when the Boeing 767 carrying 192 passengers and 11 crew members encountered turbulence. Three flight attendants and 4 passengers were transported to hospital for further evaluation. None of the injuries are life threatening.



  • Russia/ Krasnoyarsk region, 40 km NW of Kansk - Russian Air Space Forces MiG-31 fighter jet (RF-90905) caught fire in-flight. Both pilots ejected. Their injuries are mostly bruises and minor abrasions.

  • US/ TX/ Abilene/ Abilene Regional Airport (KABI) A Piper PA-34-200 Seneca I (N852AT) collapsed the nose gear upon landing. No injuries.

  • Spain/ 50 metres off the coast of Almerimar in El Ejido A Piper PA-28RT-201T Turbo Arrow (EC-KUU) crashed into the sea. The pilot (86) survived the crash. He was found the next morning.

  • Ecuador/ provincia del Guayas An Ultralight plane (HC-U005) collided with the cables of a high voltage power line and crashed in the waters of a shrimp farm. The pilot died.

  • US/ CA/ Lodi/ Lodi Airport (1O3) A Cessna 210 Centurion (N7316E) experienced a runway overrun and subsequent impact with airport fencing at Lodi Airport (1O3), Lodi, California. No injuries.



  • US/ OH/ Dayton/ Greene County Regional Airport (I19) A Cirrus SR22T plane (N1703) experienced a stall/spin and subsequent impact with airport terrain. The pilot died.



  • US/ NY/ Suffolk County/ Long Island/ / Copiague A training Robinson R22 Beta helicopter (N404LE), operated by Academy of Aviation, LLC, was substantially damaged during an auto-rotation, after it experienced a total loss of engine power while in cruise flight near Lindenhurst, New York. The flight instructor and student pilot were not injured.

  • Egypt/ Ismailia/ near Fayed An Egyptian Air Force (EAF) F-16B block 15 fighter jet crashed after a technical failure, during a training exercise. Both pilots died in the crash.

  • US/ CA/ Bakersfield/ Meadows Field Airport (KBFL) A Cessna 340A (N346MC) experienced a precautionary landing and subsequent collapse of the right main landing gear. No injuries.

  • Kazakhstan/ 3 km from Almaty-Ust-Kamenogorsk highway An ambulance McDonnell Douglas MD 600N helicopter (UP-MD004) with patient onboard, crashed. All 5 occupants died in the crash, including 2-month old baby boy.



  • US/ NJ/ Sussex/ Sussex Airport (KFWN) A Cessna 180K Skywagon plane (N64251) experienced a loss of directional control and subsequent runway excursion upon landing. The airplane came to rest inverted, sustaining substantial damage. No injuries.

  • Belize/ Punta Gorda airstrip A Piper PA-32-300 Cherokee Six (N70746) tried to avoid a dog on the runway and crash landed. The plane sustained some damage. No injuries.

  • Australia/ QLD/ Whitsunday Island/ Chance Bay - Hamilton Island Air Cessna 208 Caravan I floatplane (VH-WTY) suffered a landing accident. The aircraft struck rough water on landing. The plane bounced heavily, coming to a stop on a tree covered hillside near the beach. One woman was transported to hospital as a result of the crash.

  • Iran/ Mashhad Airport (MHD) - A Zagros Air McDonnell Douglas MD-83 airplane (EP-ZAB) sustained substantial damage in a runway excursion accident upon landing on runway 31R at Mashhad Airport (MHD), Iran.

  • US/ CA/ Santa Rosa/ near Charles M Schulz-Sonoma County Airport (KSTS) A Piper PA-24-260 Comanche (N9362P) impacted open field terrain. The airplane was destroyed and the two occupants onboard received fatal injuries.



  • Australia/ Ocean Grove/ Bass Strait off Collendina Beach A Piper PA-28-235 (VH-PXD) impacted the waters of Bass Strait at Barwon Heads offshore of Collendina Beach in Ocean Grove, Victoria. The airplane was destroyed upon impact. Police have confirmed that 3 men and a woman were on a light plane that crashed off the coast near Point Lonsdale on Friday afternoon. A 68-year-old Noble Park man, a 63-year-old Black Rock woman, a 65-year-old Black Rock man and a 55-year-old Mordialloc man were on board the aircraft that took off from Moorabbin airport in the morning. Three bodies have been recovered from the water. It is believed the fourth person was also killed, but their body is yet to be located.

  • Tanzania/ Maswa game reserve A Robinson R44 II helicopter (5H-FCG) sustained substantial damage in an accident while taking part in an operation with the Tanzanian wildlife authorities. The pilot died. The accident happened after the pilot was shot from the ground by poachers.

  • Namibia/ 3km from Windhoek-Hosea Kutako International Airport (WDH/FYWE) A training Cessna 425 Conquest I (V5-MJW) crashed on approach. Three pilots were conducting a local training flight. The aircraft burned totally. The pilot and two passengers died in the crash.

  • UK/ County Durham/ Middleton St. George/ Durham Tees Valley Airport A Cessna F182P Skylane (Reims) plane (G-ROWE) was blown over in gales from storm "Gertrude" whilst parked out overnight in the open at Durham Tees Valley Airport, Middleton St. George, near Darlington, County Durham. In-house firefighters were called to deal with a small fuel leak. The plane was overturned in the wind. There were no injuries and nobody was on board at the time.



  • US/ GA/ Albany/ Southwest Georgia Regional Airport (KABY) A Lancair IV-P plane (N401PT) impacted airport terrain shortly after takeoff. The aircraft was partially consumed by the post-impact fire and the 3 occupants onboard received fatal injuries.

  • Pakistan/ Sargodha - Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Selex ES Falco drone crashed after a technical failure.

  • South Korea/ Geumsan-myeon/ Gimje-si A MBB Bo 105CBS-5 helicopter (HL9617) crashed in a forest near a temple on a mountain after turned repeatedly to the high axle and impacted the mountain side. The pilot (61) died in the crash.

  • France/ Aussurucq at the edge of the forest Arbailles A light plane was struck by a gust of wind and crashed into a mountain. Both occupants were seriously injured.

  • US/ WI/ Palmyra/ Palmyra Municipal Airport (88C) A Fairchild 24R-46A plane (N77697) experienced a collapse of the landing gear upon landing. No injuries.

  • Spain/ Los Martínez del Puerto (LEMP) A Fantasy Air Allegro 2000 aircraft (EC-FD6) crashed on landing. No injuries.

  • US/ TX/ Beaumont Municipal Airport (KBMT) A Guimbal Cabri G2 helicopter (N503DS) was hover taxiing with a tail wind present. The pilot slowed the speed of the hover taxi and lost tail rotor effectiveness. The helicopter spun 3 times, impacted terrain, and sustained substantial damage. The two occupants were not injured. The National Transportation Safety Board determines the probable cause(s) of this accident as follows: The pilot's inadequate compensation for wind during a hover-taxi and his failure to maintain helicopter control due to a loss of tail rotor effectiveness.

  • Mexico/ Querétaro Airport (QRO) A Rockwell Sabreliner 80 plane (N380CF) sustained substantial damage in a runway excursion accident. The aircraft landed without apparent problems and was instructed to taxi to the platform. The plane continued taxiing on the runway until the end. It then continued into a field for about 800 meters. It came to rest with the nose resting on the ground. The occupant(s) of the aircraft left the plane and disappeared before the airport fire service reached the plane.

  • US/ CO/ Bent County/ NE Animas An American Legend AL11C-100 plane (N24184) experienced a nose-over upon landing at the aircraft owner's private airstrip. The sole pilot onboard received minor injuries.



  • South Africa/ Mpumalanga/ Standerton A Cessna 210N Centurion II (ZS-PIN) suffered an engine failure in flight. The pilot attempted a forced landing in a soya field, but the nose wheel dug into the soft ground and the aircraft flipped over. The pilot received minor injuries and the related passenger was not injured.

  • US/ FL/ Merritt Island/ Merritt Island Airport (KCOI) A Cessna 172R Skyhawk (N35079) experienced a loss of directional control and subsequent runway excursion upon landing. The airplane came to rest inverted, sustaining substantial damage, and the sole pilot onboard was not injured.

  • US/ OR/ Burns/ Burns Municipal Airport (KBNO) A Piper PA-46-310P Malibu (N777PG) experienced a gear-up landing to the airport infield. No injuries.
