-
16 загинали; загуба на скъпо струващо въздушно средство; много разочарование и негативни емоции за личния състав;
-провежда се разследване за изясняване на причините довели до катастрофата;

Eleven people were missing and feared dead on Friday night after a
Pilatus PC-6 (PK-LTJ) belonging to Mimika Air crashed in poor weather during a flight from Illaga to Mulia in Papua Province.
The single-engine Pilatus Porter plane was believed to have crashed somewhere in the Mount Gergaji area.
The plane reportedly left Ilaga at 10:15 a.m. local time and had been expected to arrive in Mulia 30 minutes later.
The crashed plane with a register number PK-LTJ was operated by the Mimika administration in cooperation with GT Air. (Photo by Francisco Nunez)
Rihulay said the crash site had been spotted by a Christian Mission Aviation Fellowship pilot, who passed over the area at around 2 p.m. The Mimika Air plane was piloted by Nay May Linn Aung of Myanmar and co-piloted by Makmur. The passengers were identified as Marthen Jitmau, Melkias, Tolli, Herman Snafi, Wilem Mayau, Lasarus Wonda, Ruben Murib, Temina Murib and Murib’s 3-year-old child. The plane was carrying election materials, including tabulated ballot papers.
Separately, Franz Wenas, vice chairman of the National Transportation Safety Committee, or KNKT said that he could not say whether the relatively new plane had crashed as a result of engine failure or bad weather.
“It is too premature to conclude that the plane crashed due to engine failure,” he said, adding that the KNKT was waiting for the results of Saturday’s search.
“We are still waiting, but the cause of the crash is suspected as being the poor weather,” he said.
The temperature is believed to have been about 4 degrees Celsius at the time of the crash, with heavy cloud cover in the area.

Seven people died in Wednesday's plane crash in Democratic Republic of Congo, its transport minister said on Thursday. The Boeing 737-275 (TL-ADM) was flying from Bangui, capital of Central African Republic (CAR), to Zimbabwe for a maintenance check and was carrying crew and mechanics when it crashed around 210 km (125 miles) east of Kinshasa.
"There were two crew members aboard as well as five mechanics, who were accompanying the plane ... There were no survivors," Transport Minister Matthieu Pita said.
The plane had made a brief stopover in neighbouring Congo Republic and was registered in Central African Republic. The crew had not notified aviation authorities in Kinshasa of their flight plan. The government in CAR issued a statement on Thursday confirming the deaths, saying the two crew members were from Congo Republic (Brazzaville) while others killed were from France-1, CAR-1, Zimbabwe-1 and Cameroon-2. The plane belonged to a CAR-based company called
BAKO AIR and had been in and out of service in recent years, the government in Bangui said.
