Оцелелите са стабилизирани, като 7-годишно момиче и 48-годишен мъж се възстановяват в болница в Отава, а 23-годишна жена е приета за лечение в болница в Икалуит. Катастрофата станала на подхода за кацане на 5 км от полосата на летището в Резолют бей. Известни са вече някои от имената на жертвите. Сред тях правят впечатление имената на Ches Tibbo и Michael Rideout, известни с това, че преживели в миналото си авиационни катастрофи и поради това развили страх от летене. | Passenger jet crashed in Canada's Arctic region, twelve dead 20.08.2011/ 16:50 GMT Canada/ Nunavut/ 5 mls from Resolute Bay airport First Air charter flight #6560 en route to Resolute Bay from Yellowknife last reported communication at 12:40 local time, approximately five miles from Resolute Bay airport. The Boeing 737-200 with registration CGNWN went down at approximately 12:50 local time. Eleven passengers and four crew were onboard the aircraft. Twelve fatalities have been reported and three survivors. The three injured passengers are in stable condition. The seven-year old girl and 48-year old man were sent to the Ottawa General Hospital to receive medical treatment. Another woman, 23, is still receiving medical care at Qikiqtani General Hospital in Iqaluit. The Transportation Safety Board has been notified and Canadian Military are on scene. Among the victims in the air accident are Ches Tibbo and Michael Rideout. Ches Tibbo was flying back to Nunavut after a return home to Newfoundland for his sister's funeral. Tibbo, who turned 49 on the day of the crash, was a carpenter from Harbor Mille and survived another plane crash in 2008, an incident that, like Rideout, gave him a fear of flying. Miraculously, Rideout had survived another plane crash three years ago. Rideout was also on a plane that crashed 30 years ago in Churchill Falls in Labrador. Rideout had an enduring fear of flight as a result. |

После вылета пилоты сообщили на землю об утечке топлива и пожаре в одном из двигателей. На обратном пути к аэродрому Магадана самолет пропал с экранов радара. МЧС уточнили, что обломки лежат в 82 километрах от поселка Омсукчан, самолет полностью разрушен, с воздуха можно идентифицировать только его отдельные части. Спасатели не нашли живых людей на месте катастрофы Ан-12 в Магаданской области. Обломки самолета разбросаны на два километра. По сообщению правоохранительных органов региона, наиболее вероятной причиной катастрофы мог стать взрыв топлива, о чем свидетельствует большой разлет фрагментов фюзеляжа. After refuelling and taking off in Magadan, the commander of the aircraft reported to air traffic controllers that the plane had a fuel leak and fire in the engine in the area of the Julietta gold mine in the Omsukchan district of the Magadan region and requested an emergency landing at the Magadan airport. The cargo plane crashed about 10 km from Omsukchan killing all 11 occupants. Two "black boxes" of the aircraft were found. Investigators are continuing their work to determine the causes of the air accident. |

От удара у воздушного судна отвалились левое крыло, правый двигатель, шасси, сильно помят фюзеляж. На борту был 41 человек, из них пятеро - члены экипажа. За помощью к медикам сначала обратились 15 человек. В больницы города доставили 12 человек (жители Приамурья, Забайкальского края и Иркутской области). В числе получивших травмы - трехлетний мальчик из Экимчана. Командир корабля Владимир Рябинков, второй пилот Юрий Царев и борттехник Виталий Бессмертный, также пострадали в авиакатастрофе. On board were 41 people, including three children. 15 people were injured, there were no casualties. The plane is badly damaged. 12 of the injured were hospitalised. | Two airplanes crashed in South Africa, 13 killed 14.08.2011/ 08:30 GMT South Africa/ Limpopo/ Mamotswiri Peak region Two ex SAAF Piaggio P-166S Albatross planes took off from Tzaneen airport after they took part in the Tzaneen Air Show the day before. Shortly after take-off they disappeared. A search was instituted during the afternoon of the same day which continued to the morning of Tuesday, August 16 when the wreckage of the two airplanes was spotted by a police helicopter at around 08:15 lying against the slopes of the Mamotswiri Peak region about 35m from the top and about 100m apart. Both aircrafts sustained post impact fire. In the crash were involved Piaggio P-166S Albatross (ZS-NJX) with 6 people on board and Piaggio P-166S Albatross (ZU-MMI) with 7 people on board. No survivers. |
